As a mom who’s always looking for meaningful, hands-on experiences for my girls, I can’t recommend the Forest Day Field Trip led by April enough. We joined the program today, and it was everything I’d hoped for—educational, interactive, and genuinely fun. My girls, ages 4, 7 and 9, were buzzing with excitement from start to finish, and I left feeling so grateful for this unique opportunity to connect them with nature.

The day was thoughtfully planned, with activities that kept the kids engaged while sparking their curiosity. From identifying native plants to building small shelters with sticks and leaves, every moment felt purposeful. April, the leader, is a gem. She has this calm, nurturing way of guiding the kids that makes them feel safe and inspired. You can tell she loves what she does—her passion for the natural world is contagious, and she has a knack for instilling that same wonder in the children. I watched my girls light up as she patiently answered their questions, encouraging them to explore and think critically. Knowing my kids are in such capable, caring hands gives me so much peace of mind.

What I loved most was how the experience blended learning with play. My girls didn’t just have fun—they practiced problem-solving, teamwork, and observation skills. Being in nature teaches kids things you can’t replicate in a classroom. They learn resilience from navigating uneven trails, patience from watching a beetle crawl across a log, and creativity from imagining stories about the forest.

Another highlight was watching my girls make new friends. By the end of the day, they were giggling with new buddies, swapping stories about their finds. It was heartwarming to see those connections form naturally.

For other moms considering a summer program, here’s what stands out: the Forest Day Field Trip is screen-free, which is huge for me. It’s a chance for kids to unplug and be fully present. The group size was just right—not too big, so every child got attention, but large enough to feel like a community. April also emphasized safety, from clear trail rules to checking for ticks.

I’m already looking forward to signing up for more sessions. This isn’t just a field trip; it’s a chance for our kids to grow, connect, and fall in love with God’s creation.
